Club Finances in Corona Times

Here is some information that can significantly limit your club's financial loss during a demanding period.
Recently we have received a number of inquiries from clubs that are uncertain or a bit stressed about the financial aspects related to payments when events are canceled. We fully understand that some are wondering about this, and we would therefore like to offer some good advice in a demanding situation. The most important thing is not to jump to hasty conclusions, actions, or decisions.
1. Be careful to inform correctly
Send out information about all canceled activities, and that you are following the recommendations from the health authorities and following the situation closely. Everyone knows this is an exceptional situation and that it is difficult for most people. No one expects you to have answers to every question either. It is also important to keep informing people as new clarifications come in.
Both in Superinvite and Cup Manager it is easy to send a message to everyone affected. Contact our support department if you have questions about that.
2. Limit the financial loss
When it comes to internal financial matters, it can cost the club unnecessarily much if a decision to refund everyone is made too hastily. No one yet knows exactly how this will develop, and rushing such decisions can turn out to be expensive.
For example, many people may not want their money back, and they understand that the club may face financial challenges during a demanding period. In that case, it is not advisable to refund all the money before people have been given this option. In addition, extraordinary measures from authorities or federations could affect the situation.
All amounts that have been paid in are held safely in your Stripe account until they are transferred to a bank account or refunded. We just want to emphasize this in case anyone is worried about the safety of the money. For the record, we should mention that Invite AS is not financially affected by whether the club or association chooses to issue refunds or not.
3. Raise awareness
We support sports during a difficult time, and we wish all our clubs the best. That is why we encourage you to post, share, or like the following Facebook post. This can help raise awareness that contributes to the club solving the financial challenges resulting from the situation.
Just let us know if you have any questions, and you can find contact information on our website /en/
Beyond that, we wish all our customers and partners good luck during a demanding period.
